Protégé, a five member Bloomington, Illinois based Rock Band, has performed extensively throughout Central Illinois for the past two decades. With both female and male vocalists, they cover an assortment of strong guitar driven rock tunes from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today. Combining awesome music with high quality light shows has established them as a crowd favorite. As a Rock ‘n’ Roll band, Protégé’s primary focus is to have fun while playing music, and lead audiences and fans to experience the fun in music too!

While visiting a local music store in the late 80s, Mike Todd joined a jam session of other guitarists with similar musical interests. What started out as a store jam session evolved into regular jam sessions, bringing in other musicians, and creating a set list. Protégé was born.

Having both male and female vocals enables Protégé to do what they love and bring a great variety of songs from Joan Jett, Motley Crew, Eddie Money, Journey, The Cars, Van Halen, Pink, Adele, Blondie, The Pretty Reckless, AC/DC, Bad Company, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult, 3 Doors Down, Tom Petty, the Black Crows, and many more!

Protégé’s talented lead singer, Debbie Graham, discovered her passion for singing at a young age. Her singing career as a soloist and with bands has crossed various genres where she earned many accolades. Now focused on a whole new dimension of singing, Debbie’s powerful, energetic vocals infuse with the greatest classic and current rock!

The pairing of Jimi Weller’s clean, crisp, old school guitar riffs and master slide, along with Mike Todd’s strong driven rhythms, provide versatility and texture which is a standard rock classic. Talented smooth power house drummer Dave Mier and the unmatchable rhythm of bass guitarist Dave Kauffman round out this band, allowing them to deliver an exceptional rock sound and have a great time!

A tremendous amount of enthusiasms ignites this cover band. Very little ground is left uncovered when their energy and talents are given to a wide range of Rock ‘n’ Roll offerings.
